Synopsis

"So, either I refuse your offer and remain here to be 'processed,' or I accept your offer and become rehabilitated. What if I just want to exist the way that I am?"

I sat down on the stool once again. I spoke very softly, not wanting to be the one to explain this to him.

"I am sorry, David. Once you were brought in here, that choice was eliminated from the equation."

I watched as he pulled against the restraints, trying to free himself. I was witnessing the anger that I was afraid would come, but it was so controlled it caused me no fear. His breathing rate was increasing as he struggled, and I found myself wishing there was something I could do to give him some relief.

Sarah is a young research scientist, working at a top-secret government facility that is trying to re-humanize vampires.
